Beethoven: Late Choral Music

Review by Cass Moreno★★★Sample

Solid, but I keep skipping “König Stephan (King Stephen), incidental music, Op. 117: III. Chor (der Männer): "Auf Dunkelm Irrweg".Allegro Con Brío”. Sorry London Symphony Orchestra, John McCarthy, Michael Tilson Thomas & The Ambrosian Singers.

Overhyped? Maybe. Did I still cry at “König Stephan (King Stephen), incidental music, Op. 117: IV. Siegesmarsch. Feurig und Stolz”? Also maybe.

I wanted to love this so badly. “Elegischer Gesang, Op. 118” is fine I guess.
